Shwmae i chi, Croeso i safle wê Côr Meibion Cymreig Awstralia; welcome to the website of the Australian Welsh Male Choir - (auswelshmalechoir). Thank you to our supporters in 2009 and we look forwarding to entertaining you again in 2010. As you will see from our 2010 concert schedule, we have another busy year ahead of us. We will also be busy rehearsing new songs for the 2012 '1000 Male Voice Festival' to be held at the Royal Albert Hall, London, to which we have once again been invited to attend.. A4 size colour photos of the choir are available still from our Secretary at a cost of $10. Any men considering joining with us are welcome to visit us on our rehearsal night - Monday evenings at 7.30pm, The Chapel, Village baxter, Robinson's Road, Frankston (Gate 2 entrance). Our choir has over three decades of musical heritage, and during that time has had the good fortune to have sung at the Royal Albert Hall in London on a number of occasions, the Sydney Opera House, as well as performing on television and at many locations around the Victoria, interstate and in the UK. We are a group of men with ages spanning over 60 years, our youngest chorister is 20 years old and at the other end of the spectrum one of our members is 84 years young. We love our music with a passion that is difficult to convey in words, but when we sing, we create beautiful harmonies and the rapture on the audience’s faces when we sing sends shivers down my spine. To think that we are capable of producing such a sweet sound is awesome, and to see the appreciation of our audience is truly rewarding. We
sing songs in many languages, at the last count we perform works in six
different languages, but mainly we sing in English and what we call the
“language of the angels” Welsh. We
would like men of all ages who can string together a few notes to join
us, we will train you to improve your singing. We have three brilliant
musicians who train us at rehearsals and we would welcome you to join
us so you too can experience the thrill of entertaining an appreciative
audience. Neil
